Q:How do I -  join Journey Church ?
A: The entry point for Journey Church is the Worship Connection each Sunday at 10:30.  There are people available to talk with you about any aspect of Journey Church.

Q: How do I -  know what to do?  I have not been to Church in quite a while.
A: Then without a doubt Journey Church is the place for you.  We're brand new, therefore everyone is new.  Come on and join us  I guarantee you will be welcome.

Q: How do I -  get training for the various ministry areas?
A:  When you express an interest in a Ministry area, you will be contacted regarding the next training opportunity.  Most ministries areas provide OJT.   Others are taught at regular intervals.

Q: What kind of church are you? Who are you affiliated with?
A: We are a community church. Many of our members come from a Southern Baptist background. Although we are a community church, we are not associated with the Charismatic Church but do believe in passionate worship, small groups and every member being involved in ministry and missions. We do partner with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) in our missions ministry, such as Disaster Relief and Mission Trips.

Q: Do I have to be baptized to become a member of Journey Church?
A: If you have already been baptized, you do not have to be baptized again. If you have never been baptized, Scripture teaches that believers are to follow Christ in baptism. We baptize by immersion.

Q: How is the Leadership Structure of the Church set up?
A: We are staff led. We have a Leadership Team. We have a trained group of Church Planters. Our Leadership Team will oversee the financial matters of the Church and there will be a financial statement available to all members. We do not conduct monthly business meetings. Journey Church will follow the leading of the Holy Spirit concerning all matters of the Church. Decisions will be made by the staff and Leadership Team, with input from our Church Planting Team.

Q: Why must I sign a church Covenant to become a member of Journey Church?
A: We take church membership very seriously at Journey Church. We believe it is extremely important for all of our members to understand our responsibilities as believers. We do practice church discipline to protect the integrity of the Church. We will hold each other accountable for our actions and attitudes. Our goal is to glorify Jesus Christ in all that we do and say. It is our goal to eliminate the old 20/80% rule (20% of the people doing 80% of the work). If you do not desire to share in the ministry each and every week, Journey Church may not be the Church for you.

Q:Why don’t you do some of the usual things that most churches do such as Sunday night worship, Wednesday prayer meeting, choir?
A: We do not believe that being busy is a sign of being spiritual. One of our Core Values is that we value time. We will protect our members from being over-worked and too busy to enjoy Church and family. Journey Church uses a simple format. We believe that by keeping things simple, and doing a few things well, we are more effective. We offer one worship experience on Sunday morning. We offer small groups that will meet once a week, and we encourage all members to find one area to serve in – whether it is a ministry event or missions. We believe that less is more!

Q:When do you plan on building or having your own building?
A: For the first three years, we are going to focus on being the Church rather than having a building. Most churches turn inward and focus on themselves if a building is the focus. We pray that God will provide the land and the financial resources in His time for us.
